Business Description:
Cathay Pacific Airways Limited - ADR operates in the Air transportation, scheduled sector. Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd (Cathay Pacific) is a Hong Kong-based international airline. Cathay Pacific offers scheduled passenger and cargo services to 141 destinations in 39 countries and territories worldwide. Through its subsidiaries the Company is also engaged in other related areas, including airline catering, aircraft handling and aircraft engineering. The airline operations are principally to and from Hong Kong. The Company operates in two business segments: the airline business segment and the non-airline business segment. The airline business segment consists of its passenger and cargo operations. The non-airline business segment includes mainly catering, ground handling and aircraft ramp handling services. As of December 31, 2010, it operated a fleet of 127 wide-bodied aircraft. In March 2011, Cathay Pacific announced the acquisition of 15 new Airbus A330-300 aircraft and 10 new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
