First Place Financial Corp. operates in the Federal savings institutions sector. First Place Financial Corp. (First Place) is the holding company of First Place Bank (the Bank). The Company offers a variety of business and retail banking products, as well as a range of insurance and investment services. It conducts its business primarily through the Bank. The Bank's principal business consists of accepting retail and business deposits from the general public and investing these funds primarily in one- to four-family residential mortgage, home equity, multifamily, commercial real estate, commercial and construction loans. First Place has two wholly owned subsidiaries, First Place Bank and First Place Holdings, Inc. The Bank has one wholly owned subsidiary, Ardent Service Corporation, which operates as a management company to manage the rental or sale of certain properties obtained from borrowers. Wholly owned subsidiaries of First Place Holdings, Inc. include First Place Insurance Agency, Ltd., and First Place Real Estate, Ltd.
