NGAS Resources, Inc. operates in the Crude petroleum and natural gas sector. NGAS Resources, Inc. is an exploration and production company focused on natural gas plays in the eastern United States, principally in the southern portion of the Appalachian Basin. As of December 31, 2009, the Company had interests in a total of 1,387 wells, concentrated on Appalachian properties that it operates and controls through its infrastructure position. During the year ended December 31, 2009, the Company sold 485 miles of its Appalachian gas gathering facilities (Appalachian Gathering System) to Seminole Energy Services, LLC and its subsidiary. In October 2009, the Company expanded its position in the Leatherwood field with the acquisition of a lease covering 10,300 gross (8,280 net) undeveloped acres in Leslie and Harlan Counties, Kentucky. In May 2009, it acquired a farmout for 56,000 gross (42,000 net) undeveloped acres contiguous to the Amvest portion of its Stone Mountain field in Letcher and Harlan Counties, Kentucky.
