Business Description:
Petsec Energy Limited - ADR operates in the Crude petroleum and natural gas sector. Petsec Energy Ltd. (Petsec Energy) is engaged in the oil and gas exploration and production in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico and onshore Louisiana Gulf Coast region of the United States, and oil exploration in the shallow waters of the Beibu Gulf off the south coast of China. The Company, at the date of this report, produced oil and gas only in the USA, in the offshore shallow waters the Gulf of Mexico and onshore Gulf Coast of Louisiana. It holds interests in 10 producing leases of which Marathon, Main Pass Blocks 18/19, Main Pass Block 270, and Chandeleur Block 31/32 are the main fields. The Main Pass Block 270 field (the Company's largest in 2010) was shut-in in early April 2010 due to damage to an onshore oil pipeline which is owned and operated by a third-party. Its subsidiaries include Petsec Investments Pty. Limited, Petroleum Securities Pty. Limited, Najedo Pty. Ltd, Petroleum Securities Share Plan Pty Limited and Western Medical Products Pty. Limited.
