Sun River Energy, Inc. operates in the Crude petroleum and natural gas sector. Sun River Energy, Inc. (Sun River), incorporated on April 30, 1998, is a development-stage oil and gas exploration and production company. The Company focuses on the East Texas Basin and the Permian Basin in West Texas, as well as the multiple geological horizons on its 242,000 net acres of wholly owned mineral interests in the Raton Basin of Colfax County, New Mexico. Its Mexico operation in Colfax County (The Raton Basin) consists of an additional 5,000 net acres under lease. The Raton Basin operation is similar to the Deep Cotton Valley / Bossier in East Texas at 15,000 feet. Sun River's Permian Basin consists of 2,147 net acres under lease in the prolific Permian Basin. It has drilled two wells in the Permian Basin. On February 7, 2011, Sun River acquired a majority stake in oil and gas properties from Katy Resources ETX, LLC.
