Business Description:
Tate & Lyle PLC - ADR operates in the Cane sugar refining sector. Tate & Lyle PLC is a provider of specialty food ingredients and solutions. The Company and its subsidiary and associated undertakings together with its joint ventures, are developing, manufacturing and marketing food and industrial ingredients made from renewable resources. The Company operates in two segments: Speciality Food Ingredients (SFI) and Bulk Ingredients (BI). Its Speciality Food Ingredients products platforms include starch-based speciality ingredients, high intensity sweeteners and food system. Bulk Ingredients manufactures and markets a range of products, including nutritive sweeteners, industrial starches, ethanol, acidulants and animal feed, for food and beverage, industrial and agricultural customers worldwide. On September 30, 2010, the Company completed the disposal of EU Sugars to American Sugar Refining Inc. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011 (fiscal 2011), it disposed off Molasses to W&R Barnett Ltd. During fiscal 2011, it disposed of its Sugars segment.
