Independence Group NL operates in the Ferroalloy ores, except vanadium sector. Independence Group NL is engaged in mineral exploration and nickel mining. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011 (fiscal 2011), the Company acquired a 100% interest in Jabiru Metals Limited (Jabiru), pursuant to the terms of an off-market takeover offer. Jabiru is primarily involved in the exploration and mining of copper and zinc ores. The Company focuses on Long Nickel Mine operation. The Company mainly operates in Australia. The Company operates in three segments: Long Nickel Mine, which is under nickel mining, the Tropicana project and other exploration. The Long Nickel Mine produces nickel and copper. Its gold projects include Tropicana Joint Venture, Karlawinda, De Beers Database and Holleton. Long Nickel Mine is located at Kambalda in Western Australia. Its base metal projects include Duketon Nickel Joint Venture, Musgrave JV, Bungalbin JV, Jaguar Nickel Sulphide JV, Mt Isdell and Orrbacken JV. The Company holds 100% interest in Lightning Nickel Pty Ltd.
