Blackthorn Resources Limited operates in the Gold ores sector. Blackthorn Resources Limited is engaged in mineral exploration and development. The Company operates in four segments: Perkoa Zinc project in Burkina Faso, Exploration project in Burkina Faso, Mumbwa project in Zambia and Other. The Perkoa Zinc Project is located in the Sanguie Province, Burkina Faso. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011 (fiscal 2011), the Company completed the joint venture with Glencore International to complete the Perkoa Zinc Project in Burkina Faso and to commence zinc concentrates production. During fiscal 2011, the Company's exploration work was targeted on prospects within its 1,134 square kilometers of exploration leases in Burkina Faso. As od June 30, 2011, the Company held a 100% interest in the Mumbwa project with BHP Billiton retaining a 2% royalty. The Company held 74% of the Mokopane project. The Company, through its wholly owned subsidiary Blackthorn Investments Pty Ltd, holds a 39.9% interest in the Perkoa Zinc Project.
