Business Description:
International Coal Holdings Limited operates in the Bituminous coal and lignite--surface sector. International Coal Holdings Limited, formerly Straits Resources Limited, is a diversified resources company. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2010 (fiscal 2010), it was engaged in the production and sale of coal, copper and gold; the exploration for copper, coal and gold and metal distribution. The Company has three segments: Base Metals, Precious Metals and Specialty Metals. Base Metals consists of the Hillgrove mine and the Tritton copper mine. Precious Metals consists of the Mt Muro gold and silver mine operated by PT Indo Muro Kencana in Indonesia. Specialty Metals consists of the Varomet Holdings Limited group of companies, a non-ferrous metal and noble alloy products distribution business. During fiscal 2010, it discontinued Whim Creek division and PTT group of companies. In December 2010, it completed the sale of the non-core GfE trading business to a consortium including the existing GfE management.
