Whirlpool S.A. operates in the Household laundry equipment sector. Whirlpool SA, formerly Multibras SA Eletrodomesticos, is a Brazil-based company engaged in the production, marketing, import and export of electronics and home appliances. The Company manufactures refrigerators, horizontal and vertical freezers, ovens, washing machines, dryers, vacuum cleaners, stoves, ice plants, dishwashers, microwave ovens and air conditioners, among others. It also produces refrigeration compressors, electric motors and machinery, as well as equipments, tools, castings, components, parts and raw materials required for manufacturing and sale of the Company's products. In addition, the Company offers installation, technical assistance and maintenance services for its products. Whirlpool SA exports its products to North America, South America, Europe and Asia. As of December 31, 2010, the Company's wholly owned subsidiaries included Qingdao EECON Electronic Controls and Appliances Co. Ltd., Ealing Compania de Gestiones y Participaciones SA and Mlog Armazem Geral Ltda.
