Business Description:
Nemi Northern Energy & Mining Inc. operates in the Bituminous coal--underground sector. NEMI Northern Energy & Mining Inc. (NEMI) is a Canada-based company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of coal properties and production. As of September 30, 2010, the Company's principal asset is Peace River Coal Limited Partnership (PRC). PRC is a joint venture between NEMI, which holds 12.2%; Hillsborough Resources Limited (Hillsborough), which holds 13%, and Anglo Coal Canada Limited (Anglo), which holds 74.8%. PRC operates the Trend Mine near Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia and holds metallurgical coal assets under exploration and development in northeast British Columbia, including the Roman and Horizon projects, and a 50% interest in the Belcourt Saxon properties. PRC's coking coal is received by steel mills in Asia, Europe and South America. On December 31, 2009, Hillsborough Resources Limited was acquired by Vitol Anker International B.V. (Vitol). In September 2011, the Company sold Peace River Coal Limited Partnership.
