West Fraser Timber Co Ltd operates in the Sawmills & planing mills, general sector. West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. (West Fraser) is a Canada-based wood products company. The Company produces lumber (spruce/pine/fir (SPF) and southern yellow pine (SYP)), and it also produces panels (plywood, MDF and laminated veneer lumber (LVL)), pulp (northern bleached softwood kraft pulp (NBSK) and bleached chemithermomechanical pulp (BCTMP)), newsprint and wood chips. West Fraser's segment includes lumber, panels, and pulp and paper. Its panel segment includes MDF and LVL. MDF is marketed under the names Ranger, WestPine, Eco-Gold and Ecopremium. During the year ended December 31, 2010, the Company produced 3,500 million board feet SPF and 2,000 million board feet SYP of lumber. The Company has operations in western Canada and the southern United States. In January 2010, West Fraser permanently closed the linerboard and kraft paper mill at Kitimat, British Columbia. In July 2011, the Company sold of its Skeena Sawmills Division to Roc Holdings Ltd.
