Business Description:

E.on AG operates in the Combination utilities sector. E.ON AG is an investor-owned energy company. Its segments include the Central Europe market unit, Pan-European Gas, the U.K. market unit, the Nordic market unit, Energy Trading and the New Markets, which includes all of the remaining segments. The Central Europe market unit focuses on E.ON's electricity business and the downstream gas business in central Europe. Pan-European Gas focuses on the upstream and midstream gas business. The U.K. market unit operates the energy business in the United Kingdom. The Nordic market unit focuses on the energy business in Northern Europe. Energy Trading combines E.ON's European trading activities for electricity, gas, coal and carbon dioxide (CO2) allowances. New Markets consists of the climate and renewables, Italy, and Russia market units. On February 25, 2010, the Company completed the sale of its subsidiary, Transpower Stromuebertragungs GmbH.
