The Company is engaged in manufacture and sale of minibuses and automotive components. It operates in two segments: manufacture and sale of minibuses and automotive components, and manufacture and sale of BMW sedans. Its commercial vehicle brands include JinBei and Granse minibuses. The Company is also engaged in the manufacture of diesel engines and gasoline engines for use in minibuses, sedans, sport utility vehicle (SUV) and light duty trucks and automotive components, including but not limited to window moldings, strips, axles, stamped parts. During the year ended December 31, 2010, the Company sold 95,180 minibuses, and the Company's joint venture with BMW also sold 70,488 BMW sedans. In September 2010, BMW Automotive Finance (China) Co., Ltd. was formed and operated as a joint venture between BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd., an indirectly 50% owned jointly controlled entity of the Company, and BMW AG.
