Vitro S.A.B. de C.V. operates in the Glass containers sector. Vitro SAB de CV (Vitro) is a glass manufacturer. The Company, through its subsidiary companies, offers products for two business sectors: glass containers and flat glass. Its manufacturing facilities produce, process, distribute and sell a range of glass products to multiple industries that include beer, wine and liquor, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, as well as the automotive and construction industry. In addition, it supplies raw materials, machinery and industrial equipment to different industries. During the year ended December 31, 2008, the Company acquired the assets of Verres et Glaces d Epinay and formed Vitro Cristalglass France, S.A.S. In June 2011, the Company sold its interest in Vitro America LLC and Super SKY Products Inc to America Glass Enterprices LLC. On November 23, 2011, the Company announced that its Vitro Packaging de Mexico SA started bankruptcy proceedings.
