Koninklijke Ahold NV operates in the Grocery stores sector. Koninklijke Ahold NV is a Netherlands-based retail group. Through its subsidiairies the Company operates supermarkets, liquor stores and drugstores in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sweden, Norway and the United States. In the Netherlands, the Company runs the Albert Heijn supermarkets, Etos drugstores, Gall & Gall wine and spirit stores and albert.nl webshops. The Hypernova food-retail formula and Albert supermarkets are operated in Czech Republic and Slovakia. In Norway and Sweden Ahold runs the ICA supermarkets in a joint venture, in which it holds a 60% stake, with Hakon Invest AB. Through its USA division, the Company runs the Stop & Shop, Giant Landover, Giant Carlisle and Martin's supermarket chains, as well as the Peapod.com home shopping and grocery delivery service. In addition, Ahold holds a 49% stake in JMR, a joint venture company shared with Jeronimo Martins Holding, which runs the Pingo Dolce supermarket chain in Portugal.
