JD Group Ltd operates in the Household appliance stores sector. JD Group Limited operates as an investment holding company. The Company is engaged in the business of furniture and appliance retail. It also provides financial, insurance, micro lending and debt recovery services, as well as contact centre solutions. The Company has five divisions: Financial Services, Cash Retail, New Business Dev, Unitrans/Steinbuid and Corporate. The Company's Cash Retail operations are conducted through two chains in South Africa. The automotive business offers a range of vehicles, parts and accessories, servicing and insurance, whilst the building materials business operates under three brands in South Africa. The Company operates its Furniture retail through eight chains in southern Africa. The Company's all trading and banking is conducted through its wholly owned subsidiaries. During the fiscal year ended August 31, 2011, the Company acquired the South Africal retail assets of Steinhoff International, namely Unitrans Auto and SteinBuild.
