Illovo Sugar Limited operates in the Raw cane sugar sector. Illovo Sugar Limited is a global sugar producer and a manufacturer of downstream products. The Company produces raw and refined sugar for local, regional, European Union (EU), United States of America (USA) and world markets from sugar cane supplied by its own agricultural operations and independent outgrowers who supply cane to Illovo's factories. It has four segments. The cane growing segment is engaged in the growing of sugar cane for use in the sugar production process. The sugar production segment is involved in the manufacture of sugar from sugar cane. The downstream operations segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of downstream products, including syrup, furfural and alcohol. The co-generation segment supplies surplus electricity generated from the sugar production process. It has agricultural and manufacturing operations in six Southern African countries.
