Business Description:
Anglesey Mining PLC operates in the Iron ores sector. Anglesey Mining plc is engaged in the development and operation of the Labrador iron project in eastern Canada in which it has a 33% interest and the Parys Mountain project in North Wales, which is wholly owned. As of 31 March 2011, the Company had a 40% interest in Labrador Iron Mines Holdings Limited (LIM), which is developing and operating direct shipping iron ore deposits in western Labrador and north-eastern Quebec near Schefferville in Canada. The Parys Mountain property is the base metal deposit in the United Kingdom with a total of 6.5 million tons containing zinc, copper and lead with small amounts of silver and gold. The Parys Mountain property is engaged in other mineral ventures using the Company's own resources. The Company also holds the Dolaucothi gold property in South Wales. It subsidiaries include Labrador Iron plc, Anglo Canadian Exploration (Ace) Limited, Parys Mountain Mines Limited, Parys Mountain Land Limited and Parys Mountain Heritage Limited.
