Business Description:
Xtract Energy PLC operates in the Crude petroleum and natural gas sector. Xtract Energy plc identifies and invests in a portfolio of early-stage oil and gas assets and business interests. It operates in three segments: oil & gas exploration, evaluation and development; oil shale exploitation, and investment and other. Oil and gas exploration, evaluation and development division includes its interests in Turkey, the Netherlands, Denmark and the Kyrgyz Republic. Oil shale exploitation segment includes its interests in Queensland, Australia and Tarfaya and Morocco. Investment and other segment carries out investments in various listed resource companies. On January 11, 2010, the Company acquired Oakville Capital ET, LLC. On February 11, 2010, Xtract acquired a further 16% interest in Extrem Energy AS (Extrem), taking Xtract's overall interest of the business to 50%. On August 27, 2009, it acquired additional interest in Elko Energy Inc (Elko), increasing its holding in Elko to 36.81%. In August 2011, Xtract Energy Plc completed sale of Extrem Energy AS.
