In addition to historical fundamental analyses, the complete report available to purchase compares Griffon with three other cutlery, handtool and hardware manufacturers in North America: NCI Building Systems, Inc (2016 sales of $1.68 billion of which 55% was Metal Building Components), Valmont Industries, Incorporated ($2.52 billion of which 30% was Engineered Support Structures), and SPX Flow Inc ($2.00 billion of which 36% was Food and Beverage).

Sales Analysis. Griffon reported sales of $1.96 billion for the fiscal year ending September of 2016. This represents a decrease of 2.9% versus 2015, when the company's sales were $2.02 billion. The sales level in 2016 was fairly close to the level five years ago: in 2011, Griffon had sales of $1.83 billion. Contributing to the drop in overall sales was the 9.9% decline in Plastics, from $532.74 million to $480.13 million. There were also decreases in sales in Home and Building Products (down 1.0% to $1.04 billion) . However, these declines were partially offset by the increase in sales of Telephonics (up 1.1% to $435.69 million) .
