Hayes Lemmerz International, Incorporated. The Group's principal activity is to produce aluminum and steel wheels for passenger cars and light trucks and steel wheels for commercial trucks and trailers. It also supplies automotive powertrain components. It operates in two segments. Automotive Wheels: include operations that primarily design and manufacture fabricated steel and cast aluminum wheels for original equipment manufacturers in the global passenger car, light vehicle, and heavy duty truck markets. The Other segment includes the powertrain components facility in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and financial results related to the corporate office and the elimination of certain intercompany activities. It has global operations with 23 facilities, including business and sales offices and manufacturing facilities located, in 12 countries around the world. The products are sold to the major manufacturers of passenger cars and light trucks and to commercial highway vehicle customers throughout the world.
