The Company operates through segments: Diversified Industrial and Aerospace Systems. The Diversified Industrial Segment is an aggregation of several business units, which manufacture motion-control and fluid power system components for builders and users of various types of manufacturing, packaging, processing, transportation, agricultural, construction, and military vehicles and equipment. The Diversified Industrial Segment consists of Automation Group, Engineered Materials Group, Filtration Group, Fluid Connectors Group, Hydraulics Group and Instrumentation Group. The Aerospace Systems Segment produces hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems and components, which are utilized on domestic commercial, military and general aviation aircrafts.

Sales Analysis. Parker-Hannifin Corp reported sales of $11.36 billion for the fiscal year ending June of 2016. This represents a decrease of 10.6% versus 2015, when the company's sales were $12.71 billion. The sales level in 2016 was fairly close to the level five years ago: in 2011, Parker-Hannifin Corp had sales of $12.35 billion. Contributing to the drop in overall sales was the 13.0% decline in Diversified Industrial, from $10.46 billion to $9.10 billion. . However, these declines were partially offset by the increase in sales of Aerospace Systems (up 0.3% to $2.26 billion) .
