The sales level in 2016 was fairly close to the level five years ago: in 2011, TDK had sales of $10.32 billion. There were also decreases in sales in Passive Component (down 2.3% to $4.80 billion) . However, these declines were partially offset by the increase in sales of Film Applied Products (up 35.0% to $1.85 billion) and Other (up 71.0% to $323.44 million) .
