The Defence and Security segment develops equipment, systems and services for the armed and security forces, as well as the protection of networks and infrastructures, with a governmental defense customer base. It operates through AvioVision NV.

Sales Analysis. Thales SA reported sales of 14.88 billion Euro (US$16.07 billion) for the year ending December of 2016. This represents an increase of 5.8% versus 2015, when the company's sales were 14.06 billion Euro.
