Safran Company Snapshot
Safran operates within the Aircraft engines and engine parts sector. In addition to historical fundamental analyses, the complete report available to purchase compares Safran with three other aircraft manufacturers in Europe: Rolls Royce Holdings Plc of the United Kingdom (2016 sales of £14.96 billion [US$20.07 billion] of which 47% was Civil), Ob'yedinennaya Aviastroitel'naya Korporatsiya PAO of Russia (416.93 billion Russian Rubles [US$7.12 billion] of which 60% was Construction Contracts), and BAE Systems PLC which is based in the United Kingdom (£17.79 billion [US$23.88 billion] of which 40% was Platform & Services(UK)).

Sales Analysis. During the year ended December of 2016, sales at Safran were 16.48 billion Euro (US$19.48 billion). This is a decrease of 8.9% versus 2015, when the company's sales were 18.10 billion Euro. Contributing to the drop in overall sales was the 12.5% decline in Holding Company and Other, from 8.00 million Euro to 7.00 million Euro. There were also decreases in sales in Defense (down 2.2% to 1.24 billion Euro) . However, these declines were partially offset by the increase in sales of Aerospace Propulsion (up 0.8% to 9.39 billion Euro) and Aircraft Equipment (up 4.1% to 5.15 billion Euro) and Currency Hedging (up 2.2% to 701.00 million Euro) .
