BASF Se Company Snapshot
BASF Se operates in the Paints and allied products sector. In addition to historical fundamental analyses, the complete report available to purchase compares BASF Se with three other paint manufacters in Europe: Clariant AG of Switzerland (2016 sales of 5.85 billion Swiss Francs [US$5.99 billion] of which 44% was Plastics & Coatings), Akzo Nobel N.V. of the Netherlands (14.20 billion Euro [US$16.74 billion] of which 40% was Performance Coatings), and Brenntag AG (10.50 billion Euro [US$12.38 billion] ).

Sales Analysis. BASF Se reported sales of 57.55 billion Euro (US$67.87 billion) for the year ending December of 2016. This represents a decrease of 18.3% versus 2015, when the company's sales were 70.45 billion Euro. Contributing to the drop in overall sales was the 78.7% decline in Oil and Gas, from 13.00 billion Euro to 2.77 billion Euro. There were also decreases in sales in Performance Products (down 4.1% to 15.00 billion Euro) and Chemicals (down 8.2% to 13.46 billion Euro) and Agricultural Products (down 4.3% to 5.57 billion Euro) and Other (down 27.7% to 2.02 billion Euro) . However, these declines were partially offset by the increase in sales of Functional Solutions (up 1.1% to 18.73 billion Euro) .
