Sales at Toray Industries have increased during each of the previous five years (and since 2011, sales have increased a total of 37%). Sales of Carbon Fiber saw an increase that was more than double the company's growth rate: sales were up 17.6% in 2016, from ¥158.37 billion to ¥186.20 billion. Not all segments of Toray Industries experienced an increase in sales in 2016: sales of Life Science fell 2.1% to ¥55.84 billion.
