This represents a very small increase of 1.0% versus 2016, when the company's sales were ¥386.71 billion. Despite this increase, sales are still below the level achieved in 2015, when JSR reported sales of ¥404.07 billion. Sales of Elastomer Business saw an increase that was more than double the company's growth rate: sales were up 3.4% in 2017, from ¥179.25 billion to ¥185.35 billion. JSR also saw significant increases in sales in Diversified Businesses (up 2.6% to ¥159.22 billion) . Not all segments of JSR experienced an increase in sales in 2017: sales of Synthetic Resins Business fell 11.8% to ¥46.04 billion.
