Distell Group Limited (Distell) is an investment holding company. Distell has interests in liquor-related companies. It is a producer and marketer of wines, spirits and flavored alcoholic beverages. Distell's products include spirits, wines, ciders and ready-to-drinks. Its wine portfolio includes ultra/super premium wines, premium wines, wine aperitifs, basic wines, perle wines, sparkling wine and methode Cap Classique wines. The Company's Cider and ready to drink portfolio includes a range of low-alcohol (3% to 6% by volume) flavoured alcoholic beverage products. Distell has joint ventures and investments in Tanzania, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Mauritius and wholly owned subsidiary companies in Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland. In April 2013, Distell Group Ltd acquired the entire share capital of Burn Stewart Distillers Ltd.

Sales Analysis. During the year ended June of 2012, sales at Distell Group Limited were 14.18 billion South African Rands (US$1.48 billion). This is an increase of 15.0% versus 2011, when the company's sales were 12.33 billion South African Rands. This was the fifth consecutive year of sales increases at Distell Group Limited (and since 2007, sales have increased a total of 78%). Sales of Alcoholic Beverages saw an increase of 15.5% in 2012, from 12.17 billion South African Rands to 14.05 billion South African Rands. Not all segments of Distell Group Limited experienced an increase in sales in 2012: sales of Non-Alcoholic fell 20.7% to 128.79 million South African Rands.
