• Merger & Acquisition Headlines - This page contains a long list of one or two-lined synopses of recent British acquisitions. This is a good place to go if you need to find out what acquisitions a British firm has recently undertaken.

Links directly to the section of a company's home page where you can get financial information, so this site carries no data itself (well, they do have SEDOL numbers): just links. I normally don't link sites like this, but they've
done a pretty good job: you can search, and they also have alphabetical and sector indices.
• TrustNet - This company's "service is aimed at private investors and Independent Financial Advisers and covers UK collective investment funds. They offer completely free access."
Price and performance data is provided daily for all funds, where available (sourced from Financial Express and Thomson Financial Datastream). • GAAP 2000: UK Financial Reporting and Accounting - [Book -- Amazon]. Details of the accounting standards in use in the United Kingdom. The main stock market indicator in the UK is the FTSE 100 index, which is short for the Financial Times Stock Exchange 100 Index. As its
name implies, there are 100 companies in the index, which are weighted according to their market capitalisation. The basis for this index is 1,000, for December 31, 1983. This
index was established by the Financial Times, the London Stock Exchange and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
