Sales Analysis. Sales were up sharply during the second quarter of 2021 versus the previous year's second quarter. During the second quarter of 2021, sales at Vienna Insurance Group totalled 5.34 billion Euro. This is an increase of 115.0% from the 2.48 billion Euro in sales at the company during the second quarter of 2020. This was the biggest same quarter rise in sales at Vienna Insurance Group in the previous 35 quarters. During the first two quarters of 2021, sales totalled 8.68 billion Euro, which is 56.8% higher than through the first two quarters of 2020. During the year ended December of 2020, sales at Vienna Insurance Group were 10.44 billion Euro (US$12.27 billion). This is a decrease of 3.3% versus 2019, when the company's sales were 10.80 billion Euro. The sales level in 2020 was fairly close to the level five years ago: in 2015, Vienna Insurance Group had sales of 9.52 billion Euro. Contributing to the drop in overall sales was the 30.5% decline in Other Markets, from 332.31 million Euro to 230.88 million Euro. There were also decreases in sales in Czech Republic (down 1.3% to 1.30 billion Euro) and Slovakia (down 11.1% to 597.27 million Euro) and Remaining Cee (down 3.1% to 318.55 million Euro) . However, these declines were partially offset by the increase in sales of Austria (up 1.5% to 3.28 billion Euro) and Central Functions (up 5.5% to 1.43 billion Euro) and Poland (up 4.5% to 926.59 million Euro) and Baltic States (up 2.1% to 393.32 million Euro) and Romania (up 8.4% to 375.93 million Euro) and Hungary and Other (up 4.4% to 497.24 million Euro) .
