Sales Analysis. Achilles reported sales of ¥86.94 billion (US$810.25 million) for the fiscal year ending March of 2017. This represents a decrease of 1.6% versus 2016, when the company's sales were ¥88.34 billion. The sales level in 2017 was fairly close to the level five years ago: in 2012, Achilles had sales of ¥81.30 billion. Contributing to the drop in overall sales was the 8.7% decline in Business Shoes, from ¥19.43 billion to ¥17.74 billion. There were also decreases in sales in Industrial Materials (down 1.1% to ¥29.57 billion) . However, these declines were partially offset by the increase in sales of Plastics (up 1.5% to ¥39.63 billion) .
