This was the third consecutive year of growth at Makita. Sales of Europe saw an increase that was more than double the company's growth rate: sales were up 5.4% in 2019, from $1.83 billion to $1.93 billion. Makita also saw significant increases in sales in Japan (up 4.6% to $1.01 billion) . Not all segments of Makita experienced an increase in sales in 2019: sales of Other Places fell 3.9% to $570.01 million. Makita also experienced decreases in sales in North America (down 2.3% to $674.43 million) .
